Calendar of Events

Innovations, showcases music by three composers whose inventive works leave a lasting impression. Barber’s impassioned and poignant Adagio for Strings opens the concert, followed by Tracy Silverman who returns to the Atwood stage for the world premiere of his piece, Love Song to the Sun,  a work that features Silverman on his legendary electric violin and projected images. Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 – an aural quest for the meaning of life concludes this evening.

JourneyFaithfully: A Symphony Tribute to the Music of Journey
The music of Journey defined the big rock and roll sound of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their biggest hit, Don’t Stop Believin' has become a cultural anthem, appearing in everything from the TV show "Glee", to the final episode of "The Sopranos", to the finale of the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages". This April, Journey will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Cassetta Scholarship Competition
Do you know a talented high school senior?
The Mary and Lucian Cassetta Scholarship is a $1,000 award given to one talented high school senior pursuing advanced studies at a recognized music school or music camp. Instrumentalists and vocalists are both encouraged to apply.
