The Write Stuff
A Young People's Concert
Performed by the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra
Randall Craig Fleischer, Music Director
Appropriate for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
The creative process can spring from many influences and directions. The Write Stuff, is a concert program written by Heidi Joyce and Randall Fleischer that explores composers’ creative influences and inspirations and draws parallels between the structure of great stories and the structure of great music.
The Write Stuff
looks at how the physical world – the sound of a bumblebee, a summer storm, a machine – influences and inspires musical composition. The program delves into the long and significant connection between great literature and great music, and how both elements have inspired each other for centuries.
The Write Stuff
examines what makes a great story or a great piece of music work. The parallels are indeed significant. With a focus on the hero’s journey, that classic template that forms the basis for so many great stories, parallels are drawn between famous stories from pop culture and famous works of symphonic and pop music.
All reservations are processed in the order they are received.
