Free Neighborhood Concert

  Neighborhood Concert
Saturday, January 18, 2020 - 2pm
(doors open at 1:30pm)
West Anchorage High School Auditorium

Fun | Casual | Free!

WoW! We are performing our 10th annual FREE Neighborhood Concert, Saturday, January 18, at 2pm at West High School Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis; seating begins at 1:30pm.  Patrons are advised to arrive early as seating is limited.

Anchorage Symphony Orchestra Music Director Randall Craig Fleischer calls this concert one of the most important programs the ASO performs each year - and one of the most fun. “I love the informality of it - the orchestra and I are wearing our ASO polo shirts and jeans.  We all enjoy the audience participating, interacting and asking questions.  It makes the experience lighter and more personal.”

Come and enjoy varying types of symphonic music including Rossini's Thieving Magpie, Brahm’s Hungarian Dance #6, music from Harry Potter and Star Wars. And we wouldn't forget what are now Neighborhood Concert traditions: the Yup’ik movement from Echoes featuring the Imamsuat Dancers and the Overture of 1812 with audience participation.

PLUS a Q&A session with Maestro Fleischer and the musicians.

This event is not ticketed, but seating is limited.
